Equipping Youth with Digital Skills in Pakistan

Computer donations to technical training colleges located across Pakistan to help close the technology gap

TT Global Foundation is committed to empowering Pakistani youth with digital skills. This has led us to donate computers to 118 technical training schools across Punjab, Pakistan, 50% of which are women-only colleges. We plan to reach a further 70 schools in the next 12 months.

We have deliberately focused our donations evenly between both affluent cities and rural towns, after realising that there are digitally underserved students in both demographics, particularly as young Pakistani boys and girls migrate from villages to metro centres in search of better education, but often without the means to take full advantage of the opportunities at hand. We are levelling the playing field and providing opportunities for more students to access the latest technology regardless of where they are or came from.

The technical schools selected for this initiative mainly used older model computers, often more than ten years old, and in insufficient numbers to support the volume of students enrolling in their courses. Modern digital education requires modern devices and more computer time for students, which is what TT Global’ Foundation's donation activities in Pakistan provide.

With the new and more readily accessible technology, colleges can now commit to delivering more and higher-quality IT classes, better equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in the digital world.  We fully anticipate the impact of this initiative will extend beyond the colleges, as students' post-graduation earning power is enhanced, resulting in financial and knowledge benefits filtering back to the remote communities many of these students will originate from.
