In the Works - A New ICT Lab at a Girls School in Rural Kenya

TT Global Foundation has committed to building a new community ICT lab at a girls’ secondary school in rural Kenya, an important step in addressing gender disparities in digital education.

Lack of access to technology and quality digital education remains a major challenge for girls and young women in rural Kenya. Recognising the need to address this issue, TT Global Foundation, in partnership with Nairobits, will build a community ICT lab in Onsando Girls Secondary School in Nyamira County, Nairobi. This lab, with 30 computers, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

Onsando Girls is currently facing a challenge, with only 5 computers in their lab, which is insufficient to accommodate the needs of the 200 students in the school.

With a fully equipped and safe space to learn a wide range of computer skills, we aim to empower young women to participate more actively in Kenya, Africa, and, ultimately, the world’s digital economy. TT Global Foundation intends to make several similar investments in Kenya, focusing on girls' digital education and advancing our mission of bridging the gender digital divide in emerging markets.

We look forward to updating you on our progress.
